With the post-season not a possibility, the 91原创 Junior Thunder have made some moves with an eye to the future.
The B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League team will see its season end on July 4 with their regular season finale. And the team that takes the floor will look drastically different after a series of moves the past two weeks, trading 鈥� or in some cases loaning 鈥� some of their top talent to teams hoping to land a spot in the Minto Cup, Canada's junior A national championships.
The biggest of the moves came down on June 30 as 91原创 traded its captain to the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs, in exchange for a first round draft pick in 2016, a third round pick in 2015 and future considerations. 91原创 also surrenders a sixth round draft pick in 2016.
Rahe, who is tied for second in league scoring with 81 points, will return to 91原创 next season, his final year of junior. He has also played a handful of games for the 91原创 senior A Thunder and remains eligible to play for the team as a call-up in the season's final month, and potentially in the playoffs.
91原创 also shipped out the playing rights of Brendan Mykle-Winkler and Alex Margetson to the Victoria Junior Shamrocks in exchange for third and sixth round draft picks in 2016. And an earlier trade saw them send Brett Dobray to New Westminster to complete a trade from last season.
All three are in their final year of junior eligibility.
The Thunder had also traded Bryce Brochu and Dustin Doudelet to the Okotoks Junior Raiders.
The Thunder also picked up a couple of players, acquiring the playing rights to Tyler Buchan from Burnaby in one deal and getting Cain Mydske, also from Burnaby, in a separate deal.
91原创 gives up future considerations for Buchan and a second round draft pick in 2015 鈥� which they had acquired in another deal 鈥� for Mydske.
