Sportsnet will air Fair Ball, a documentary chronicling the Canadian-Ugandan baseball series played in January, this Sunday (April 1).
It will air on Sportsnet Pacific at both 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. and will also be shown again throughout the month of April.
The 30-minute documentary followed a group of 11, 12 and 13-year-olds from 91原创 Baseball 鈥� who represented Canada at the Little League Baseball World Series in August 鈥� .
They went to the African country as part of a humanitarian mission organized by Vancouver鈥檚 and , an organization designed to use sport and play to enhance child development in areas of disadvantage.
91原创 was supposed to play Uganda at the Little League World Series, but the Ugandans were denied entry to the U.S. due to discrepancies in their paperwork.
The trip also served towards raising money to construct a new baseball field for the Ugandans closer to the players鈥� homes, starting an educational scholarship fund and creating a travel fund to help send future Ugandan teams to international tournaments.
Altogether, $155,862 was raised to cover the entire trip and legacy projects.
Documentary filmmaker is also working on a project about baseball in Uganda, called . It will include footage of the 91原创 team鈥檚 visit.
It is set to debut later this year.
