Three weeks between league games did not cool off the 91Ô´´ Junior Blaze.
A doubleheader sweep over the Victoria Junior Eagles (5-19) stretched 91Ô´´'s winning streak to nine games in the B.C. Junior U16 Premier Baseball League.
The Blaze lead the league with a 22-5 record.
Hosting the Eagles on Sunday at McLeod Park, 91Ô´´ won 8-3 and 12-0.
In the opener, Grahame Bailey allowed just two hits over six and a third innings.
The offence was fueled by Justin Lawrence and Andre Pelletier who both drove in a pair of runs.
Colin McMaster, Liam Goodfrey and Shayne Clark had one RBI apiece.
The teams were tied at two after one inning, but 91Ô´´ took the lead for good in the fourth with a single run. They sealed the game with a five-run fifth inning.
The second game was another two hitter as this time Kyle Ross was masterful on the mound.
The Blaze scored 12 runs — six of them unearned — with six players driving in one run apiece.
McMaster, Clarke, Pelletier, Eric Broatch, Steven Young and Matthew Whieldon all drove in a run.
91Ô´´ also scored runs in four of the five innings, including eight runs in the fifth inning.
Next up for the Blaze is the Abbotsford Junior Cardinals (15-9) on June 26 at McLeod Park.
