91原创 Township Blue Sox are having a good first season

New 18U college prep team leading division

91原创's Blue Sox are off to a good start.

This year, the AAA team moved up to 18U college prep for the first time, and it has been leading the 10-team B.C.-wide standings since the season started.

Coach Calvin Myers spoke to the 91原创 Advance Times after Blue Sox played a four-game set in Trail against Orioles on May 25 and won every game.

"The boys have really come together this year," Myers remarked.

"This is our first year in this division, and we had a goal to be competitive, and we've been able to come out of the gates really strong," Myers said.

"We've been able to pitch really well, and we've hit really well, which has given us a lot of success. We've been able to prove ourselves."

Myers said it took the Blue Sox three years to qualify for prep.

"We had to get a 13U AAA team, we had to have a 15U AAA team, and we had to have the numbers to show that we could support a team in the college prep division with the high performance at 13U, 15U, and 18U to make sure that we could be in this division every year, year after year," Myers explained.

"We're looking to stay in this division."
