Three 91原创 Gymnastics Foundation (LGF) athletes and their coach will represent Canada at the Junior Pan Am Games in Asunci贸n, Paraguay Aug 19-22.
Aiden Gonzalez, Keita Kuramoto and Parker Smith secured three of the four available spots on Team Canada鈥檚 men鈥檚 artistic gymnastics (MAG) roster, with the fourth spot filled by Thomas Tittley from Laval, Quebec.
LGF head coach Kris Krunick was named coach of the Canadian team by Gymnastics Canada.
Gonzalez competed in 2024 at Pan Am Champs in Columbia, where he qualified for the high bar finals and placed fourth. Krunick was team coach. It was the first time in LGF history that an athlete and coach have represented the club at that level of international competition.
I鈥檓 excited to get another opportunity to represent Canada and to travel to a new country," Gonzalez said.
Smith said he was "most excited to represent Canada and to compete with people across the world" and so did Kuramoto who was also "most excited to compete and represent Canada,鈥.
Coach Krunick describe it as "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
"In 2018, when Mark Rowbotham joined the LGF Team, we made a goal to put the MAG program and LGF on the map for Canadian gymnastics," Krunick said.
The Junior Pan American Games are a multi-sport event held every four years among youth athletes from all over the American continent.
