A monster night from Sean Lundstrom helped the 91原创 Junior Thunder get back in the win column.
Lundstrom had five goals and nine points as 91原创 defeated the Delta Islanders 12-8 on Saturday night at Ladner Arena.
The win improved the Thunder to 6-2 while Delta fell to 7-5 in the B.C. Junior Lacrosse League standings.
The first period was back and forth as the teams traded goals and went to the locker room tied at four. And after the teams traded goals to open the middle stanza, the Thunder took control with four unanswered goals. Delta did get one back prior to intermission and cut the lead to 10-8 with 16 minutes to go in the game. But 91原创 shut the door the rest of the way and James Rahe and Nick Stone added goals 39 seconds apart to seal the victory.
Reegan Comeault had two goals and two assists while Brett Dobray (one goal, three assists), Adam Will (one goal, two assists), Brendan Mykle-Winkler (one goal, two assists), Stone (one goal, two assists), Rahe (one goal, one assist), Brandon Bull (three assists) and Dylan Quinn (two assists) all had multi-point games.
Spencer England made 32 saves in goal and also chipped in with an assist.
The Thunder and Islanders play again on June 6, this time at the 91原创 Events Centre.
The Thunder are also in action the night before (June 5) when they travel to face the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs.
