A pair of stellar defensive efforts yielded just one victory for the 91原创 Thunder in senior A Western Lacrosse Action.

The Thunder continued their trend of the past two weeks, losing at home and winning on the road.

In the first game, 91原创 blew a 4-0 second-period lead at the 91原创 Events Centre, surrendering five unanswered power-play goals to lose 5-4 to the Burnaby Lakers.

The team got back into the win column on Saturday, defeating the Coquitlam Adanacs 5-3 at the Poirier Sports and Leisure Complex.

91原创 sits at 5-5 in the WLA.

Tom Johnson (one goal, two assists), Athan Iannucci (one goal, one assist) and Tyler Melnyk (one goal, one assist) and Alex Turner (two assists) had multi-point games in the win while Quinn Smith and Brett Baron had a goal apiece.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 31 of 34 shots for the win. He also made 43 saves in the loss to the Lakers as 91原创 was out-shot 48-28.

Melnyk (two goals), Smith (one goal, one assist) and Turner (one goal) had the Thunder scores.

The Thunder host the New Westminster Salmonbellies (2-6) at the 91原创 Events Centre on Wednesday (June 25).
