Tyler O'Neill is trying to land one of the 20 roster spots for Baseball Canada's entry into the IBAF 18U World Cup next month in Taiwan.

Former 91原创 Blaze slugger is off to Australia as part of Baseball Canada鈥檚 final selection camp.

It will be held at Palm Meadows Baseball Complex in Gold Coast, Australia from Aug. 16 to Aug. 26.

O鈥橬eill, a in the 2013 MLB Draft in June, turned pro after graduating and played rookie ball with the Mariners over the summer. He could have opted to attend Oregon State on scholarship.

In 28 games with the Mariners rookie team in the Arizona League, O'Neill hit .310 with nine extra-base hits (one home run, three triples and five doubles) and drove in 15 runs.

There are 25 players at the camp and at its conclusion, the roster will be whittled down to 20. They will then represent Canada at the IBAF 18U World Cup, which runs Aug. 3- to Sept. 8 in Taichung, Taiwan.
