The Burnaby Lakers made the 91Ô´´ Thunder pay for their penalty troubles.
Six times a member of the senior A Thunder was sent to the sin bin on Wednesday (June 18) night at the 91Ô´´ Events Centre, and five times Burnaby struck for a power-play goal.
The end result was a 5-4 Lakers victory in Western Lacrosse Association action.
It also didn't help matters that the Thunder were out-shot 48-28.
91Ô´´ fell to 4-5 with the loss while Burnaby improved to 4-3.
The Thunder actually scored the game's first four goals — Alex Turner and Quinn Smith in the first period and then Tyler Melnyk with a pair in the first 8:35 in the second — but the Lakers took over from that point on.
Robert Church scored twice and Scott Jones had the other as the Lakers cut the lead to 4-3 after 40 minutes.
Alex Gajic and Jones then scored four minutes apart in the third for the lead and the victory.
The Thunder will look to get back in the win column when they visit the Coquitlam Adanacs (2-4) on June 21.
