After a slow start in the first quarter, the 91原创 Rams erupted for 31 points in the second quarter, routing the host Westshore Rebels 58-20.
The game was played on Saturday afternoon at Westhills Stadium and improved 91原创 to 4-0 in the B.C. Junior Football Conference.
Westshore's Nils Goguen scored on a 76-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the hosts a brief 7-4 lead. But the lead was short-lived as return man Ryan MacDonald ran back the ensuing kick 98 yards to give 91原创 the lead for good.
And the second quarter saw the Rams offence catch fire as quarterback Jahlani Gilbert-Knorren throw for four touchdowns and run for another as 91原创 took a 44-7 lead at the half.
"The offence performed well and the defence came together," said 91原创 coach Ted Kirby.
Malcolm Williams and Jordan Traversy each caught two touchdowns, while Dan English grabbed another for 91原创.
Gilbert-Knorren completed just nine of 19 passes for 129 yards, but four of them went for scores.
The fifth touchdown pass came from back-up quarterback Cecil Belanager who was 3-of-5 for 17 yards.
Kirby was glad he was able to get every player some game action, including all three quarterbacks.
Along the ground, Kyle Albertini rushed for 129 yards on just six carries. Nathan Lund also had 70 yards on seven carries and Gilbert-Knorren had 65 yards on seven carries. As a team, 91原创 ran for 284 yards on 25 carries, picking up an average of 11 yards per carry.
Steve Thomas was good on two of three field goal tries. He also converted all seven touchdowns and added a single as well.
Ben Sharpe and Treymont Levy each had interceptions while Sergio Cabrera and Evan Foster had fumble recoveries. Foster also had a pair of sacks and 91原创 as team dropped Rebels quarterback Hunter Lake six times.
Nathan Sheppard, Joe Patko and Brandon Klein each had one while Joe Lester and Alex Agnoletto shared a sack.
Despite another big win, Kirby said it was a far from perfect showing.
But he was encouraged by what he saw.
"We are taking positive steps," he said.
"The big things are becoming small things 鈥� and we are going in the right direction."
Next up for 91原创 is a game on Aug. 24 at Kelowna's Apple Bowl against the Okanagan Sun (3-1).
