Led by Royal Richardson, the Trinity Western Spartans took a pair of road victories over the Calgary Dinos, improving to 5-3 on the season and rising up to number two in the most recent national rankings.
The women's volleyball team won 3-1 (23-25,25-9,25-20,25-21) and 3-0 (25-21,25-16,25-16) with Richardson earning the Canada West first star of the week award.
The fourth-year outside hitter finished the weekend with 33 kills, 22 digs and four blocks.
We did a really good job with our blocking and our defence. And this is one of the first games that we really got our offence going and were able to find some rhythm and were able to hit at a high efficiency that put a lot of pressure on our opponents,鈥� said Trinity Western head coach Ryan Hofer.
鈥淲e had a lot of good performances all around and it was a really good team effort.鈥�
Up next for the Spartans is a pair of home matches against the Regina Cougars at the 91原创 Events Centre on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.
