The 91原创 Thunder improved to 2-0 on the young Western Lacrosses Association season with their second straight come-from-behind victory, this time in a defensive battle.
The senior A lacrosse team rallied from a 3-1 second period deficit to defeat the Coquitlam Adanacs 5-3 on May 22 at the 91原创 Events Centre.
The game was a rematch of last summer's WLA championship series, which was won by 91原创 in six games, the Thunder's second straight league title.
The Adanacs jumped ahead 2-0 in the first period on a pair of goals from Jesse Guerin.
Athan Iannucci got the home side on the board 9:18 into the second but Matthew Dinsdale restored the two-goal advantage for Coquitlam three minutes later.
But from that point on, it was all 91原创.
Alex Turner's power-play goal made it 3-2 after two periods and then Iannucci and Matt Leveque scored 59 seconds apart to give the Thunder their first lead of the night.
Kyle Belton rounded out the scoring with five minutes to play.
Shayne Jackson set up three goals.
Brodie MacDonald made 27 saves for the win as the Thunder were outshot 30-27.
