A pair of Kerry Susheski goals six minutes apart in the third period propelled the 91原创 Thunder to victory in game three of the Western Lacrosse Association championship series.

Susheski, making his first appearance in the series,  scored twice to break open a 5-5 tie and Lewis Ratcliff added power-play goals 55 seconds apart as the Thunder went ahead two games to one in the best-of-seven series with a 9-5 win on Thursday (Aug. 23) at the 91原创 Events Centre.

The Thunder power play was a big factor in the game as it struck for five goals on six chances. Conversely, Coquitlam was held to one goal on six tries.

Seven seconds into the game, Nik Bilic took a pass from Ian Poole off the face-off to open the scoring as 91原创 never trailed in the contest.

After Kevin Olson tied things at one, Alex Turner and Ratcliff put the Thunder ahead 3-1.

But Jason Jones and Ryan Johnson would pull the Adanacs even prior to intermission.

Garrett Billings and Olson exchanged goals in the second before Turner scored his second for 91原创 with 22 seconds to go in the period. However, Dane Dobbie struck back with three seconds remaining to forge a 5-5 tie going into the third and setting the stage for a dominant final 20 minutes for the Thunder.

Ratcliff (three goals, two assists) and Billings (one goal, four assists) both finished with five point games.

Joel McCready had three assists.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 35 of the 40 shots he faced.

Nick Rose was peppered with 52 shots in the Coquitlam goal, stopping 43.

Poole, the league's unsung hero award winner, had a monster game in the face-off circle, winning 13 of the 16 draws he took.

Game four is Aug. 25 at the Poirier Sports Complex in Coquitlam with game five on Aug. 27 at the LEC.

Both games begin at 7:45 p.m.
