Thunder take 2-0 lead

After surrendering a third-period lead, the 91原创 Thunder recovered, scoring the game's final two goals to defeat the Coquitlam Adanacs 8-6.

The victory, which came on Tuesday (Aug. 6) at the Coquitlam Sports Centre, gives the Thunder a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven Western Lacrosse Association semifinal series.

Game three goes Aug. 8 at the 91原创 Events Centre with a 7:45 p.m. start time.

In game two, the Adanacs got a pair of power-play goals from Daryl Veltman 65 seconds apart in the opening two minutes of the third period.

But 91原创 recovered and Alex Turner and Mark Matthews put the Thunder ahead for good.

91原创 never trailed in the contest, leading 2-1 after one period and then opening the second with four straight goals to go ahead 6-1. The Adanacs answered back with three goals to cut the lead to 6-4 after 40 minutes.

Dobbie led the Thunder with two goals and one assist while Garrett Billings (one goal, four assists) and Athan Iannucci (one goal, three assists) had big games as well. Adam Jones and Brett Mydske had the other goals.

Both teams scored four times with the man advantage.

Coquitlam was led by Veltman's four goals.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 38 of the 44 shots he faced.
