Runners are ready to hit the Aldergrove Regional Park trails in pairs on Saturday, Aug. 23 for the sixth annual Gruesome Twosome run hosted by Run Like A Girl Adventures.
Participants can choose various distances 鈥� 22 kilometres, 11K, 5K, or the all-ages 1K 鈥淗ooray Fun Run.鈥� The top three finishers of races will receive awards and draw prizes from sponsors.
The goal is for partners to stay together throughout the course, whether they are friends, couples, or parents pushing strollers. Solo runners are welcome to join as well.
Each registration includes a finisher鈥檚 medal, event bib, aid stations, finish-line food, and a $5 donation to BabyGoRound, a local charity supporting families by providing essential baby gear.
People can register for the event at runlikeagirl.ca. Registration closes on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and is limited to 250 runners.
Virtual runners will also be completing the race wherever they live. Registration for virtual runners closed on July 1.
