The public didn鈥檛 pass up the opportunity to head to Township fire halls when the department announced open houses.

Hall in Otter, Aldergrove, Murrayville and Brookswood opened up Sept. 20 while Fort 91原创, Willoughby and Walnut Grove held their public events Sept. 21.

鈥淭hese were our first open houses/family nights since 2019,鈥 said Township fire鈥檚 Krista Barton, a captain responsible for public safety and community risk. :鈥漈hey were overwhelmingly successful and were extremely well attend by the public. Our halls all saw several hundred people over the two evenings. We were joined at some of our halls by community partners including BC Ambulance Services, RCMP, Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue and 91原创 Emergency Program Volunteers.鈥

The open houses were a chance for the public to see working fire halls, learn about the trucks and other equipment used by Township fire crews, and meet the people who help protect the community.
