A project to house some of 91原创鈥檚 homeless won鈥檛 be considered by Township council until at least September.
The proposed supportive housing project isn鈥檛 on next week鈥檚 council agenda, for the last meeting before a summer hiatus.
BC Housing and local non-profits have proposed turning the former Quality Inn in the 6600 block of 200th Street into a 49-unit supportive housing project.
If approved by 91原创 Township council, it will house local homeless people.
The plan has proved controversial with some neighbours, who are worried about crime and drugs in the area. Advocates for the homeless have supported it as a way to get people housed and stable.
Because of the October election, a new council will have the final say on the project.
