An Abbotsford man has received a four-year jail sentence for four Lower Mainland robberies.
Scott Kuebeck, 35, was sentenced Friday (Dec. 22) in Abbotsford provincial court after previously pleading guilty to the four robbery charges, as well as to a charge of using an imitation firearm.
Two additional charges 鈥� disguising his face with intent to commit an offence and assault with a weapon 鈥� were stayed at sentencing.
Kuebeck was charged in June 2023 with:
鈥� robbery, using an imitation firearm and disguising his face on April 17, 2022 in Abbotsford;
鈥� robbery on May 1, 2022 in 91原创;
鈥� robbery on May 14, 2022 in New Westminster; and
鈥� robbery and assault with a weapon on May 16, 2022 in 91原创.
At the time, the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) said the robbery on April 17 occurred just after 6 p.m. at a gas station in the 33800 block of Essendene Avenue.
The suspect was captured on CCTV footage, police said.
They said, as the investigation unfolded, the APD was in touch with police in neighbouring communities who had reports of robberies 鈥渢hat were similar in execution鈥� and had a similar suspect.
Kuebeck was identified as the suspect in all the incidents, and he was subsequently charged.
His criminal record includes 11 past robbery convictions.
He was sentenced to a three-year jail term in January 2023 after pleading guilty to robbing a gas station in the 1900 block of Sumas Way in Abbotsford on May 27, 2022.

He would have still been serving that jail term when he was charged with the other robberies for which he was sentenced on Dec. 22.
Kuebeck鈥檚 previous criminal history also includes being charged with 13 counts of robbery in early 2017 and pleading guilty to nine of them 鈥� six in Chilliwack and three in Abbotsford. He was sentenced in December 2018 to four years in prison and three years of probation, but was given three years鈥� credit for time already served.
The sentencing judge commended Kuebeck, who had been a heroin addict at the time of the offences, for his efforts to turn his life around in the two years he had been in prison. But she cautioned him to be vigilant about the issues that had triggered his drug use.

Just 13 months after the judge鈥檚 comments 鈥� in January 2020 鈥� Kuebeck attempted to rob a woman at a bank ATM in Abbotsford.
Kuebeck claimed he had a knife and demanded money, but the woman told him she didn鈥檛 have any. He threatened he would stab her if she didn鈥檛 give him her purse, but she refused to do so.
He then ran off, but officers stopped him when they spotted him running down the street in dark clothes and a balaclava.
In late 2020, Kuebeck received a 15-month jail term for that incident.
