Wildfire smoke sparks air quality warning across B.C.

Regions of BC highlighted on the map are being impacted or are likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24-48 hours

Multiple regions of the province are socked in by smoke.

The entire Okanagan, Kamloops, Cariboo south (including Williams Lake), Fraser Canyon (including Lytton), East Vancouver Island (Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay) and Nanaimo are impacted, or likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24 to 48 hours.

"During a wildfire, smoke conditions can change quickly over short distances and can vary considerably hour-by-hour," the Ministry of Environment said in the Aug. 4 air quality warning.

Check back for further updates, which are expected to be issued Tuesday.
