鈥淚 think voting is really important,鈥 Dianna Lambert said as she was leaving the school property.

鈥淚鈥檓 a woman, and back in the day women lost families and died trying to defend or get our vote 鈥 get the chance for women to vote, and I鈥漧l never let that pass by.鈥

The City resident said she had no hesitation as to who was getting her vote on election day.

鈥淎bsolutely,鈥 Lambert responded when asked if she knew how she would be voting before arriving to the polling station.

鈥淚 like to be well-informed, know all my options,鈥 she added.

Daniel Zettler also likes to be well-informed before heading to the polling station. His vote was decided by a multitude of factors.

鈥淔or me it鈥檚 really important about what鈥檚 going on, and the landscape of Canada. I vote for the people and not necessarily for myself,鈥 he said.

鈥淚 always think about the best interest in all Canadians when I鈥檓 casting my vote. Typically, I do sway one specific way, but I鈥檓 very neutral when it comes to making sure I know what each party stands for as well.鈥

Zettler didn鈥檛 have concerns about voting during a pandemic, but there is little that would have stopped him from showing up.

鈥淚 think it was done in a very safe manner, where all protocols were respected. My personal opinion is, I鈥檒l come out and vote no matter what鈥檚 going on in the world,鈥 he said.

Ashok Kumar said he felt safe voting as well.

鈥淲e go to the grocery story, we go shopping, why can鈥檛 we vote?鈥 he asked rhetorically.

鈥淚f you don鈥檛 vote now, you can鈥檛 complain tomorrow,鈥 he added.

Meanwhile, Don Madec didn鈥檛 let the pandemic hold him back from casting his ballot but said the election shouldn鈥檛 have been called.

鈥淚 don鈥檛 like it all,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think we should be having an election right now. It was done too quick and in the middle of the pandemic, and it shouldn鈥檛 have been done this way.鈥

Madec also had decided how he was voting well in advance of election day.

鈥淚t鈥檚 my duty, civic duty, and I鈥檇 feel guilty if I didn鈥檛,鈥 he said.
