Homicide investigators looking for dash cam footage

Homicide investigators are on scene in Maple Ridge, after a man was shot to death in a car.

At 12:22 a.m. on Wednesday morning the Ridge Meadows RCMP, paramedics and fire crews responded to the call of a shooting victim inside a vehicle at the Petro-Canada/7-Eleven lot at 240 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road.

Police said the victim was unresponsive, with apparent gunshot wounds, and despite life-saving measures he did not survive.

A black Honda Civic at the service station had the front, passenger side window broken, and what appeared to be a bullet hole in the windshield. The vehicle was towed from the scene several hours after the emergency response.

The shooting occurred in the area of 246 Street and 124th Avenue in Maple Ridge, said Const. Tisha Parsons, with Ridge Meadows RCMP. The area surrounding both scenes will be cordoned off for a significant amount of time. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called, and will be working in partnership with RCMP.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation can call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Additionally if anyone has dash camera or CCTV from either area, contact IHIT.
