47-year-old woman wanted by Mission RCMP after skipping sentencing

Police say Julie Matthew recently convicted on 4 charges; has ties to Surrey, Hope and 91原创

Mission RCMP are searching for a wanted 47-year-old woman convicted of four charges, including assault with a weapon.

The detachment is asking for the public's help in finding Julie Matthew after she allegedly failed to appear in court for sentencing. A warrant was later issued for her arrest.

According to a news release, Matthew was recently convicted in B.C. Supreme Court of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of stolen property.  The conviction stems from an incident that occurred in Deroche in 2022.

Police say Matthew has ties to Hope, 91原创 and Surrey but may have travelled elsewhere.  RCMP shared a pair of photos of Matthew and noted a small mono-colour tattoo on the left side of her neck.

Those with information are urged to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
