Dear Editor,
I see the new bike lanes have been put on 197th Avenue between Willowbrook Drive and 64th Avenue. Very nice.
I see homeless dressed all in dark clothing with shopping carts, dollies, wagons transporting who-knows-what using the bike lanes. I don鈥檛 see bike riders using the new lanes.
They are still using the sidewalks, riding right by the new white pictures of a bike on the street showing the 鈥渂ike lane鈥�.
They have no helmets, no safety vest, and dark clothing.
When are the cities going to license bike riders, so when an accident does happen through careless use of the bike lane, motorists have some rights also?
Also how do shopping carts rate as motorized vehicles and get to use the street as their own private roads? Just wondering.
