Letter: Syria’s Assad a tyrant and a despot

Editor: Bob Fearn writes (The Times, Nov. 11) that Syrian president Bashar al Assad killed thousands of his own people, but must have had a good reason to do so.

Thousands of his citizens are refugees and are streaming out of Syria into the world. The rebels trying to oust Assad are Syrians. Just who are the Syrian citizens that are left?

He is a tyrant and a despot who wants to remain in power at any cost, his citizens be damned.
