LETTER: Township council no longer worthy of engaging

Editor: Mayor Froese may not have succeeded with his aim at real and true public engagement.  He has however likely achieved disengaging the public, albeit unintendedly.

The recent performances of Councillors Fox and Quaale may have driven home the final stakes in the 鈥榳e care about Brookswood coffin.鈥

Councillor Fox鈥檚 frivolous motion to disband the OCP planning process and terminate the Modus contract shows callous disregard for; the public, fellow council members and the Mayor鈥檚 chair.

I鈥檇 suggest Coun. Fox dig in to his self-proclaimed 鈥渃ritical thinker鈥 bucket and justify to all how this was not a simple attempt to hear himself opine.  Where are your critical thinking problem solving skills?

As to Coun. Quaale, your soap boxing for developers to exceed the minimum; are selective, inconsistent, and opportunistic.

If you truly are an advocate of developers being held to a higher standard you would apply these ideals to each and every development proposal brought forward.

Our council is exclusive within themselves.  Each and every development proposal vote gets identical results. The key themes from the feedback of the recent Modus Engage TOL exercise have been cast aside by the exclusive faction within council.  There is no public trust of the process.

The indignation of the exclusive faction of council at comments of corruptness of process are indefensible, the voting patterns speak for themselves.

This council is no longer worthy of engaging.  It is all a fait accompli.  Was that your real intention Mayor Froese?

B. Cameron,
