I鈥檓 so, so sorry. We let you down big time. You didn鈥檛 deserve what happened to you 鈥� no one does.
I knew you as 鈥淭renchcoat Man鈥� and even though our paths crossed many times, I never took the time to get to know you or to see if I could help you. I will regret this for the rest of my life.
You always seemed so quiet, sad and 鈥渇ar away.鈥� You kept to yourself. You never antagonized anyone or sought trouble. You were humble and unassuming; you were an absolute fixture in our community.
My heart breaks for you and for your family.
I hope for two things: that you are happy, warm, comfortable and at peace now, and that all of us will pay way more attention to people like you who need our help and compassion.
I promise I will never forget you Wells. You鈥檝e got my word on that. Rest in peace.
