The third time was the charm for the Credo Christian Kodiaks as they upset the second seed D.W. Poppy Redhawks in the Fraser Valley quarter-finals.
Caitlin Sikma got her head on a corner kick for the game's only goal in a 1-0 Credo victory on May 15.
The game was played at D.W. Poppy Secondary as the Redhawks were the second seed among the qualified teams for the Grade 8/9 girls soccer teams for the Fraser Valley championships.
Credo Christian was seeded seventh and had to win an opening round match on May 13 to advance. The Kodiaks did so with a 3-0 victory over No. 10 Earl Marriott Mariners.
Up next for Credo is the Fraser Valley semifinals on May 20 against the top seed, Sullivan Heights.
