Rams roll over Kodiaks

A 62-0 win on home turf

Rams Kairo Hassan rushed 17 times for 109 yards and had two touchdowns as his 91原创 teammates dominated Prince George Kodiaks Saturday afternoon, Sept 9, downing their rivals 62-0 on home turf at McLeod Athletic Park .

It was the first of a home-and-home series, with the winner taking the driver鈥檚 seat for the final playoff spot.

Kodiaks were coming off a bye weekend to play only their second road game of the season.

Rams were recovering from a hard-fought 28-21 loss at home at the hands of the Westshore Rebels, where the 91原创 defence was outstanding for the first three quarters but ran out of gas against the high-flying Rebels in the final frame.

This time out, Rams defence was impassable, forcing six turnovers and generating two touchdowns.

Sean Cullen returned an interception 35 yards for a score and Howard Jiao picked up a fumble and rumbled 20 yards the other way for a major.

Rams offence gained 506 yards, compared to just 34 for the visiting Kodiaks.

In addition to Hassan鈥檚 scoring, both Trey Jones and Max Bougie threw a pair of touchdowns, finding Broxx Comia twice and Isaiah Edwards and Isaiah Andersen once.

Rams are ranked fourth of seven teams in the B.C. Football Conference with six points, while Kodiaks are fifth with four points.

Next week the Rams (3-2) and Kodiaks (2-3) will meet in the second half of the home and home, but this time in Prince George.

Play gets underway Saturday, Sept 16 at 7 p.m. in Misich Place Stadium.
