Letter: Douglas Park bagpipes, bugle players impressive at Remembrance Day service

A piper leads the procession past the cenotaph in Douglas Park on Remembrance Day. Writer Geoff Fisher was impressed with the skill exhibited by musicians at this year鈥檚 service.

Editor: I have to say the fellows playing the bagpipes and bugle at this year鈥檚 Douglas Park Remembrance Day service were the best I have heard yet.

The bugle in particular must be very tricky to keep in tune and it was perfect with beautiful vibrato.

It鈥檚 wonderful that so many folks turn out year after year. Also, it鈥檚 nice to see the dogs in attendance. I always have two poppies, one for our human comrades, and the other for the animals that gave their lives.

Geoff Fisher,
