91原创 United Soccer Association recently added a key piece to its developmental program.
LUSA president Dave Kasper has named Gary Reid as the full-time assistant technical director.
Reid will work with 91原创 United technical director Mark Parker and joins 17 other LUSA professional coaches.
In total, 91原创 United has 12 provincial B licensed coaches on its staff and five B prep coaches.
芒鈧揋ary Reid is a highly respected soccer coach in the Fraser Valley who has worked with many outstanding teams and players,芒鈧� said Kasper, who leads the largest soccer club in the Fraser Valley and one of the fastest growing clubs in the province. 芒鈧揥ith more than 2,000 boys and girls [with] 91原创 United, we are pleased to have him aboard in this important role as our club continues its growth and progress as a leading centre for youth soccer in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, and Canada.芒鈧�
Parker, who has led the implementation of the CSA芒鈧劉s long term player development plan (LTPD) at 91原创 United, said he芒鈧劉s pleased to have Reid on board.
芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s important also to credit the 91原创 United board of directors for their incredible support in expanding our professional staff, as we seek to build one of the best soccer clubs in B.C.,芒鈧� Parker said.
Reid has an extensive background in coaching and has achieved his Provincial B licence, as well as a wide variety of community coaching certifications.
He is taking the National B licence course this spring.
Reid has coached at 91原创 United since 2003, working with a wide variety of teams, both male and female.
His major focus is full-time head coach for the rapidly growing 91原创 United girls program.
In addition, he is staff head coach for the U12 program, providing monthly player assessments to the technical director and ensuring the U12 program meets the LTPD guidelines as set out by the CSA.
Among his coaching career highlights, Gary cites most recently the nine U12 players that the club developed through the 91原创 United grassroots program last season who graduated with the ability to play at the highest level of the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League.
